2010 Play Ball! Minnesota Coaches Conference
The Minnesota Twins, Twins Community Fund and Play Ball! Minnesota hosted the sixth annual Play Ball! Minnesota Coaches Conference on April 24 at Target Field.
Over 400 youth coaches attended to hear from Twins alumni, members of the Twins front office and Play Ball! Minnesota members on the finer points of coaching. The conference featured sessions on using your coaching staff, emphasizing fundamentals, designing a practice, developing pitchers and hitters, improving baserunning, improving defense and preventing injuries.
Among those in attendance as instructors were former Twins Tim Laudner, Al Newman, Scott Leius Gene Larkin and Brian Raabe as well as current college coaches Matt Parrington (Macalester College), Jason Verdugo (Hamline University), Dave Hieb and John Wilkens (Northwestern College).
Below are outlines and handouts to download from a few of the sessions at the conference. Plans for the 2011 conference are under way. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity in the spring of 2011!
